Areva has bought the remaining 49% in its 51%-owned German wind turbine subsidiary Multibrid, the power engineering firm said May 31. "This acquisition will allow a fast ramp-up of production capacity to address the growth expected in this burgeoning industry," Areva said. Multibrid will be renamed Areva Wind, the group said, in a business that will incorporate Areva's rotor blade manufacturing division, formerly PN Rotor.
