Bids submitted for Ptolemaida V

PPC has received bids from two consortia to build Ptolemaida V, a 550-660-MWe lignite-fired power plant near Ptolemais in the province of Kozani, the power utility said October 24. A consortium led by Greek engineering company Tema, with Hitachi Power Europe GmbH, Hitachi Ltd Japan and Hamon Environmental GmbH as subcontractors, has bid to engineer, procure and build a 660-MW plant for €1.395 billion. A rival offer was submitted by a consortium led by Alstom Power Systems and including Alstom Power Systems GmbH, Alstom Hellas S.A., Greece's Metka and Damco Energy as well as Alstom Power Steam Turbines, Alstom Power India and Alstom Power Italia as subcontractors, for a 598.9 MW unit for €1.558 billion (including €46.4 million representing the cost of technical changes).
