Some 9.6 TWh of electricity has been physically traded on around 3,500 MW of interconnector capacity between Scandinavia and continental Europe in the first seven months of 2011, according to the European Market Coupling Company, the volume represents €1 billion of trade on the exchanges involved - APX-Endex, EPEX Spot and Nord Pool Spot. Additional links would bring further alignment of power prices and reduce the congestion revenue for each connection, EMCC managing director Enno Bottcher told Platts September 13.
