Switzerland will have to invest between CHF 118 and CHF 150 billion (€98-124 billion) to achieve the government's Energy Strategy 2050, about half of it in development of the grid, according to a study published on November 5 by the Association of Swiss Electricity Utilities (VSE). "The promotion of renewables must go hand in hand with development of the grid," VSE director Michael Frank said.The association expects prices to rise by between 30% and 75%, rather than the maximum of 30% predicted by the government's planners.
