PPC challenges RAE's Larco ruling

Power utility PPC is to take "all necessary legal action" relating to a decision by energy regulator RAE to set a temporary price of €50/MWh for the total amount of energy consumed by mining and metallurgical group Larco SA, it said October 25."It is obvious that this Decision has a negative impact on PPC, by obliging the Company to sell below cost, and thus, PPC intends to take all necessary legal actions for appealing against the said Decision of RAE in front of any Authority, National or European," it said.The utility said that its May 22 statement earlier this year with regard to a similar RAE decision issued for smelter ALUMINIUM SA "also applies to this specific decision."
