RTE seeks €500 million EIB loan

French transmission system operator RTE is seeking a €500 million loan from the European Investment Bank towards the €1.219 billion cost of its 2012-2016 network upgrade program, bank records showed October 30.In a note on the ElB's 'projects to be financed' webpage, the bank said the program "aimed at reinforcing the French electricity transmission system. Overall the sub-projects include the erection of approximately 450-km of overhead lines, the installation of approximately 200-km of underground power cables and the related substation facilities."
