IWB takes NdD stake

Swiss electricity utility Alpiq has sold a 15% stake in the 900-MW Nant de Drance pumped storage power project to municipal utility Industrielle Werke Basel, Alpiq said September 18. No price was given but Alpiq said its investment in the project, now in construction, would be reduced by around CHF 300 million (€248 million). If approved by other project partners, Nant de Drance would now be owned 39% by Alpiq, 36% by Swiss railway company SBB, 15% by IWB and 10% by FMV, Alpiq said.
