Erg buys maintenance firm

Italian energy company Erg has acquired from Maluni the company that operates and maintains Erg Wind's Italian wind farms, Erg said July 26. The deal is valued at €10 million. Some 136 people, mostly technicians, are to join the Erg Group, in addition to the 42 staff recently acquired via the investment in ERG Wind (formerly IP Maestrale). Italian renewable energy associations Aper and Assosolare have merged into a single entity, Assorinnovabili, they said July 24. The new association will have around 500 members, making it the largest of its kind in Europe, according to newly-elected vice president, Giovanni Simoni.
