Wykes boosts biogas capacity

MAN Diesel & Turbo has installed and handed over a 10.4rnMW biogas genset to Wykes Engineering in Rushden, thernsupplier said April 6. The 20V35/44G genset, installed inrneight months, supplements an existing 7L51/60DF enginernthat has been running on biogas at the site since 2014. Thernplant is used to back up supply in the local electricity gridrnand now has a capacity of around 17 MW. Wykes usesrndecomposing food waste in a fermenter to produce biogasrnfor both engines at Rushden.
