Drax biomass unit cleared by EC

State support for Drax’s third biomass unit was cleared by the European Commission December 19. The £100/MWh Contract for Difference for the unit at the power station in north Yorkshire “will not result in overcompensation”, the EC said, confirming that no changes to the terms of the CfD were required.
