CIF ARA Atlantic thermal coal prices have been heading up again after a period of relative calm, breaching the $100/mt mark in the two weeks to September 6 in sympathy with a bullish European energy complex. S&P Global Platts assessed the 15-60 day price at $101.20/mt September 6, up from $96.20/mt August 23. A day earlier two European-delivered November deals were reported by Braemar Atlantic at $101.60/mt and $101.65/mt, and an October deal was first traded at $101/mt and rebid at the same level.
