EU CO_2 prices hit 10-year high

EU Allowance futures contracts for December 2018 delivery on the ICE Futures Europe exchange rose to an intra-day high of €21.79/mt on August 27, the highest front-December price since 2008. Prices then fell sharply September 3 as the first of the new month’s auctions got under way, bringing a 77% increase in primary supply from August’s levels. But by September 6, EUAs had bounced back up to €21.50/MWh.
