Gazprom expects 40% drop in European export revenues

Gazprom expects revenues from natural gas exports to Europe to fall to about $39.5 billion this year, from a record high $65 billion in 2008, as a result of lower gas prices and export volumes, Deputy chief executive Alexander Medvedev said June 24. Gazprom plans to supply about 142.1 billion cubic meters to west and central Europe in 2009, down from 158.8 Bcm in 2008, Medvedev said.
