UK-listed explorer 3Legs Resources, which through its subsidiary Lane Energy was the first company to use hydraulic fracturing in Poland, said November 16 it had completed its 2011 drilling and appraisal program, with the results less positive than hoped. 3Legs said the Warblino LE-1H2 horizontal well flowed at an initial rate of 6,000-9,000 Mcf/day of gas, which declined after five days of testing to about 1,800 Mcf/d at which point the well was shut in. 3Legs CEO Peter Clutterbuck said although the flow rates from this and another frack were low, the company is still optimistic they can be raised. "We have now concluded our 2011 drilling and testing program for the Baltic Basin, which has achieved its objectives of completing two wells with horizontal sections and multistage fracks," Clutterbuck said.
