Vestas to equip Tauron' wind farm

Vestas, the Danish wind turbine manufacturer, said September 27 that it had secured an order from Aldesa Nowa Energia for the supply of its V90 2-MW turbines for the 40-MW Wicko wind farm in Poland.Under the contract, Vestas will supply and install 20 turbines at the project site in the northern province of Pomerania near Gdansk. Delivery is scheduled to start in mid-2013 with the 40-MW project slated to enter service in the third quarter of 2013. The contract also includes a three-year service and maintenance agreement.Aldesa Nowa Energia, a fully owned subsidiary of Spain's Aldesa Group, is building the project on behalf of future owner-operator, Tauron Polska Energia, Poland's second largest power group.The contract is Vestas second for a Tauron-owned wind park. In March it announced it had received an order from Iberdrola Engineering and Construction Poland for delivery of 22 units of its V80-2 MW turbine and 19 units of its V90-2 MW turbine for the 82-MW Marszewo project, also in the northwestern province of Pomerania.
