Polish state-controlled utility Tauron expects to raise thermal coaloutput this year by more than 500,000 metric tonnes thanks to risingdemand, it said Nov. 22.Tauron’s three Silesian coal mines supply the company’s coal-firedplants as well as large industrial and individual customers.“In recent months coal demand has increased which hastranslated into higher sales for our fuel products. The advantage of ourmines is their access to abundant coal deposits with the necessaryquality parameters for the power industry, which we can offer atcompetitive prices,” Tauron’s CEO Jacek Pytel said in a statement.
