EPIAS launches renewable power certification system

Turkey’s EPIAS energy market has launched a renewable energyguarantee of origin system enabling producers to prove the source oftheir green power output, the market operator said June 21.The YEK-G system records and certifies each megawatt-hour ofrenewable energy supplied to the Turkish grid by licensedgenerating facilities.“The system will ensure that supply and distribution companies willbe able to verify renewable energy in their portfolio within the scope oftheir obligations,” EPIAS said.
