Greek renewables rise to top of the generation mix in February as demand dips

Renewable energy generation in Greece claimed top spot in the generation mix for February, a first in monthly statistics as gas-firing fell heavily, data from market operator Hellenic Energy Exchange SA showed. Production from CCGTs was down 44% on month to just over 1 TWh, while that from Greece's much diminished lignite fleet fell back 21% to 473 GWh on weaker overall power demand of 3.95 TWh.
