Tennet plans to invest Eur215 million ($235 million) in its high voltage grid in the north of the Netherlands and allow connection of 2 GW of new solar and wind capacity, the Dutch grid operator said October 10. Two new substations are planned in the provinces of Groningen and Drenthe, the company said. “We want to honor as many transmission requests as possible for solar parks and wind farms,” Tennet COO Ben Voorhorst said. The investment is in addition to a planned Eur1 billion investment in the region with the TSO looking closely “at where sustainable investments are most needed and most efficient.”
