Danish offshore wind specialist Orsted is turning its attentions to green hydrogen in a bid to reduce its future exposure to merchant risk, the company said March 19. Speaking on a panel at Aurora’s Spring forum in Oxford, Orsted UK managing director Matthew Wright said green hydrogen projects were integral to the company’s subsidy-free bid in the Netherlands’ 750 MW Hollandse Kust Zuid offshore wind tender.
