A laser-triangulation distance-measuring sensor, used initially for inline monitoring of PVC window-profile shapes, can now measure embossing depth. Two months ago Bytewise Measurement Systems in Columbus, Ga., sold the first system to measure surface embossing of foamed PVC deck boards with acrylic capstock.
