Energy costs for the plastics compounder may be rising, but steps can be taken to manage them. Jennifer Markarian reports how by improving the energy efficiency of auxiliary equipment - in particular cooling systems and material dryers - a significant contribution can be made to the overall plant efficiency of the compounding operation.
