The contract, awarded by the Mayor of London's office, was won by Great Newra Transport & Recycling of Newport in Gwent which specialises in the handling of unusual objects. According to company director Eddie Ford: "We have often used skid steer loaders in the past but for the Olympic contract it was important not to leave any tyre marks and, thanks to its articulated chassis, the Avant proved to be a terrific machine which we have already booked for five future projects."
