Turkmenistan is a world leader in recoverable gas reserves and pro-duction. Proven recoverable gas reserves total 3 Tcrn and the it produced about 60 Bcrn last year. Analysts believe that its production ability far exceeds exports due to the limited opportunity to ship Turkmen gas to world markets. As a result, Turkmenistan is increasing production of LNG.
