Standardized Design Means Flexibility for SEC Customers

Using standardized design in compressor packaging has helped newcomer, SEC Energy Products and Services, LP, of Houston, become a major force in four years. SEC founders reasoned that standardized design could solve a number of problems encountered in the fabrication and reapplication phases of compressor packaging.rnWith standard design elements, SEC is able to speed the assembly process and improve efficiency. Standardization has allowed SEC to run more like a manufacturing shop than a custom fabrication shop. Using standardization technology, many components and assembly operations can be staged ahead of time for faster assembly. SEC's Gary Hyde says "The shop is a machine tool and time is money. If we can put through additional compressor packages during the month, we are more successful and so are our customers. Our focus is on keeping our costs down to make our prices very competitive."
