Like the prodigy that everyone assumed one day would be a world-renown virtuoso only to fade into obscurity, carbon capture and storage (CCS), the ultimate weapon of choice against climate change just a few years ago, seems also to have slipped into the background. There are a myriad of reasons, but CCS isn't really gone or forgotten, it is alive and well in a low-profile portfolio of small research/development and pre-commer-cialization projects, not to mention day-to-day enhanced oil recovery (EOR) that remains a staple in the oil patch.
