Verify meter accuracy under actual operating conditions

To improve field meter stations and custody transfer meter accuracy, stations should be checked regularly with a field meter prover. If the highest possible calibration accuracy is to be achieved, field prover meters must be installed in the same flow environment that turbine meters operate. Gas piston provers and sonic nozzle provers can be utilized as a calibration tool for turbine meters. Here is an evaluation of turbine meter dynamics, effects of gas composition on prover accuracy and two prover technologies available for field proving high-pressure gas turbine meters.
