INGAA aims to increase public confidence in pipe line safety

Last March's gas pipe line acci-dent in Edison, New Jersey, sent the interstate gas industry the message that it couldn't rest on its excellent safety reputation alone. DOT and National Transportation Safety Board statistics confirm year after year that pipe lines are the nation's safest transportation mode. But INGAA's members recognize that the public and local, state, and federal government officials have a legitimate need to feel confident the industry is taking every possible step to ensure that accidents don't happen.
