摘要

The reference for impulsive behavior and food intake (Nederkoorn et al3) was a study of impulsive behaviors in women with obesity without mention of their HIV status. [...] research is needed in the behavioral versus metabolic etiology of obesity in individuals with HIV. [...] there are reports from Nederkoorn's laboratory and many other research groups associating impulsivity with binge eating, weight gain, and obesity risk. [...] we believe that it can be reasonably hypothesized that the greater rates or higher levels of impulsivity seen in the HIV-1 seropositive community place its members at greater-than-average risk for overeating and obesity, when all other relevant factors are controlled.
