Bloch-surface-wave-induced Fano resonance in magnetophotonic crystals

摘要

We have observed the Fano-type Faraday rotation spectrum in a one-dimensional magnetophotonic crystal atthe Bloch surface wave (BSW) resonance and found that it is a result of the coupling between the s-polarizedBSW and the p-polarized waveguiding modes of the magnetophotonic crystal. The shape of the resonance isdetermined by the relative position and spectral splitting of the modes.
