摘要

Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) technology has been recently gaining increasing attention in flexible optical networks due to its significant spectrum efficiency, flexibility, and superior tolerance against impairments. In this paper, we put forward a novel distance-adaptive routing and spectrum assignment algorithm to select the proper modulation format dynamically based on OFDM according to the transmission reach, thereby effectively improving the spectrum utilization. The presented simulation results show that our proposed algorithm achieves significantly improved spectrum efficiency.
