After a year or so of constant and consistent falling of prices the oil market seems to have hit a mini-revival. From the heady days of the above-hundred dollar barrels of mid-June 2014 to hovering around the high fourties at the beginning of the last quarter of 2015, it was a long and slippery slope; in the price game of Chutes and Ladders every small ladder we landed on was negated by a really big chute. This went on till January this year when prices hit a 18-year low of $27.10, its lowest point since June 2003. Then the flow of the game changed. Like Liverpools's "Miracle of Istanbul" the industry started a fightback and prices started to rise again, breaking through to $40 per barrel in early March, and reaching almost $45 in mid-April. Was it a road without bumps? Certainly not - but now the ladders were simply stronger than the chutes.
