Stobart Rail & Civils and Network Rail's partnership delivers far reaching track improvement in the far north

For the last three years, Stobart Rail & Civils have been hard at work delivering an innovative new approach to track maintenance across 300 route miles in Scotland. The Far North Plain Line Workbank was an £11m programme in some of the UK's most challenging access and environmental conditions. Stobart worked in partnership with Network Rail's Works Delivery Track Scotland team to deliver refurbishment interventions on track assets that have passed their maintainable life. The scope included a comprehensive programme of repadding, rerailing, resleepering, plain line reballasting, S&C refurbishment, level crossing renewals and small-scale full renewals.
