Report from the International Permafrost Association: The Permafrost Young Researchers Network (PYRN)

The Permafrost Young Researchers Network (PYRN) is an international organisation established under the patronage of the International Permafrost Association (IPA) fostering innovative collaboration, seeking to recruit, retain and promote future generations of permafrost researchers. The PYRN was officially founded in November 2005 by Hugues Lantuit, Margareta Johansson and Oliver Fraunenfeld at the Second International Conference on Arctic Research Planning and has grown steadily since then to, as of 20 August 2009, more than 720 permafrost researchers and educators from 43 different countries.
