Army Corps says NL Industries offers no facts for U.S. liability for response costs for slag site

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the General Services Administration moved on Nov. 18 to dismiss NL Industries Inc.'s CERCLA cost recovery and contribution claims for contamination at the Raritan Bay Slag Superfund Site near Old Bridge Township in New Jersey. The site contains contamination from lead-bearing slag and other materials used to construct a seawall and refurbish a jetty in Laurence Harbor. The case is in federal court for the District of New Jersey.
