摘要

We examined the associations between identification with superordinate and subgroup identities and values related to peace and conflict. In 2 studies, participants completed measures of identification with humans, global citizens, and Americans as well as measures associated with peace (e.g., attitudes toward peace) and conflict (e.g., support for the war on terror). The results showed that global citizenship identification was uniquely related to peace variables above and beyond identification with humans and Americans. Furthermore, female (vs. male) participants showed greater endorsement of peace (Study 2). The findings highlight the unique content associated with global citizen identity and the prosocial values related to global citizenship identification.
