High frequency electronic ballasts now drive fluorescent lamps that were originally driven by electromagnetic versions. Goals of new electronic versions have been to reduce the parts count and improve the reliability while providing improved performance. Meeting these goals is the STR-B5050 series that embodies the control, half-bridge driver, and power stage for electronic fluorescent ballasts in consumer, industrial, and commercial applications up to 200W.
