When members of our industry pitch precast, prestressed concrete as a superior alternative to other building materials, we usually talk about the quality, speed, aesthetics, and durability that precast concrete brings to a project. And it is all true. If you look at past PCI Design Award winners, you'll see countless examples of bridges erected in days; museums offering vast, columnless spaces; and buildings designed to withstand hurricanes, floods, and whatever else nature throws our way.
