The most recent dryer fabric technology, with film like surfaces, increased adhesion to the paper sheet, and unsymmetrical structures shows that the dryer fabric can play an important role in improving paper quality through improved sheet control. The dryer section of today's paper machines plays a more significant role in terms of its influence on both paper quality and machine runnability.
