Successful Start-up For Cheng Loong's Board Machine Rebuild

The Metso supplied board machine PMI of Cheng Loong Corporation's Ta-Yuan mill in Taiwan has been successfully started up on Oct 3, 2008 after a headbox rebuild. The delivery included a new ValFlo headbox for the top ply, relocation of the existing headbox, approach flow systems and system engineering. The main target of the rebuild was to improve the quality and the cross direction profiles of the board produced. In the shutdown, the machine's existing headbox was replaced with a ValFlo hydraulic headbox, which is especially suitable for headbox rebuilds. The basic features of a ValFlo headbox are uniform stock distribution across the entire width of the machine, as well as easy adjustment of the slice jet velocity and direction during machine operation.
