China Pulp Market Annual Report 2008

At the beginning of year 2008, pulp spot market had witnessed a weak trend which can be seen from the decreasing import volume of BCTMP that led to a slight upward price. Although the downstream demand led by tissue paper mills within Baoding area in He-bei province had been picking up a little bit and there had been more orders for BSK and BHK, the upward trend was suppressed in May. Since June, all kinds of pulp spot market had lowered its price until mid-Nov with BSK price came back a little and BHK, UKP, BCTPM stopped falling. But the mar-rnket had shown again a bad sign due to capital and inventory pressure of some traders at the end of the year.
