Mahendra Ramdaw is packaging production manager of Sandoz SA, which packs 450 different types of pharmaceutical packaging, including glass, blister (alu-alu), blister (alu-PVC), plastic, tubes for effervescent tablets, specialised plastic, liquid dosage forms and patient-ready packs. He discusses why the pharmaceutical industry is slow to make changes to its packaging and why innovations are primarily influenced by industry regulations concerning product stability.
