Glass volume demand continued to grow well in 2007. The growth in the glass market in 2007 is attributed to the following: 1. The SAB Calabash project that entails the replenishment of the 750ml glass pool sold in the South African malt beer industry.rn2. The continued positive performance of the South African beverage industry.rn3. Continued positive consumer spending, despite increased interest rates.rn4. Warm weather conditions experienced during the first three quarters of 2007.rn5. Unfavourable weather conditions were experienced during the last quarter of 2007 which negated additional sales potential.
