With customers among the blue chip manufacturers in the country, and with a history that dates back 60 years, Starpak, manufacturer and supplier of shrink-wrapping and heat-sealing machinery, has much to be proud of. Debbie Sinclair, editor of Pharmaceutical & Cosmetic Review, chatted to Warren Smith, Starpak's marketing and sales executive recently, to find out more about this stellar company.rnWhen Starpak (then Levy & Smith) was established by Jack Levy in 1946, he could never have imagined the company that it would grow to today. What started as essentially a jobbing shop has grown into the largest shrink-wrapping machineryrnmanufacturer in Africa and one ot the biggestrnof its kind worldwide. 'We've installed over 80 000rnmachines across the globe,' says Warren Smith, 'and a significantrnportion of those are in African countries like Nigeria and Kenya.' Starpak alsornhas an association with a company based in Chicago, US, run by the Levy's, whichrnmanufactures a similar range of machines to order for the American market.
