Tetra Pak fends off rivals in hard 2014

Tetra Pak has registered a sluggish in 2014 due to rising competition within the liquid food packaging sector. A further softening of global GDP added additional pressure to the food processing and packaging giant last year, with net sales of €10.9bn (£7.9bn), up 1.7% from 2013. Tetra Pak did however record strong growth in other areas -capital equipment sales reached almost €2bn (£1.45bn) and technical sales topped €1bn (£727m), which helped offset a disappointing year forpackaging material. The Tetra Brik Aseptic (TBA) Slim, TBA Edge, and Tetra PrismaAseptic performed well.
