There were four bidders: BAE Systems with the CV90; General Dynamics with Ajax; Hanwha Defense Systems with the Redback and Rheinmetall offering the Lynx. The first two are in production: Ajax for the British Army and the CV90 for several European nations, including all of the Nordic countries. But the two successful companies only have a handful of vehicles between them. Germany's Rheinmetall have produced three prototypes of their IFV; Hanwha Defense from South Korea are in the process of building a similar number of theirs. Having said that, even these new vehicles are not entirely developmental, instead making use of many proven components such as engines and transmissions.
