RAYTHEON AIM-9X BLOCK Ⅱ MISSILE HITS TARGET IN FIRST FLIGHT FROM NASAMS LAUNCHER

Raytheon Company launched an AIM-9X® Sidewinder Block Ⅱ missile for the first time from a National Advanced Surface-to-Air Missile System, and engaged and destroyed a target during a May 2019 flight test supported by the Royal Norwegian Air Force at the Andoya Test Center in Norway. The AIM-9X Sidewinder is a: 1.Triple-threat missile that can be used for air-to-air engagements, surface-attack and surface-launch missions without modifications.2.U.S. Navy-led, joint programme with the U.S. Air Force and 24 Foreign Military Sales partners. A NASAMS fire unit comprises a KONGSBERG Fire Distribution Center, missile launchers, and Raytheon Sentinel radar and interceptors. Raytheon's AMRAAM® missile is the baseline short- to medium-range interceptor for NASAMS.
