Enforcement Audit Finds OSHA Erred in Enforcement Procedures

A report and audit issued by DOL's Office of Inspector General (OIG) found that OSHA did not always properly identify and conduct cases as part of its Enhanced Enforcement Program (EEP).rnOIG analyzed inspections conducted between October 1, 2003, and March 31, 2008. EEP was established in 2003 to identify high-risk employers and target their worksites with increased enforcement attention.
