Second programme year of the IUHPE/CDC co-operation on global health promotion and health education initiatives

In 2002 the IUHPE developed and signed a Cooperative Agreement with the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), an agency of the Department of the Health and Human Services, after a number of areas of common interest to develop health promotion research and initiatives, and disseminate expertise and information were identified both at global and regional levels. Since the agreement became effective in August 2002, the IUHPE has functioned as a facilitating and often coordinating agency for a comprehensive global health promotion and health education programme for developing public health policies, disseminating evidence-based knowledge and practical experience, and building capacity in the following different areas: 1.
