For the past several years, the IUHPE Board of Trustees (BoT) has debated the issue of Board member responsibility for moving the IUHPE agenda forward, especially in the face of scarce resources and a small staff in Paris and in Regional Offices. There has been general agreement that the Officers of the IUHPE need to take more responsibility for forming the organisation's work plans, and for finding the resources needed to realise the plans jointly agreed to. Based on the major strategic challenges the IUHPE faces in the upcoming period, the work plans of each officer address not only these challenges, but also other priorities each wishes to emphasise derived from their specific skills, competences, opportunities, and desires to move specific activities forward within their portfolio. We invite you to visit the IUHPE website at www.iuhpe.org to read the responsibilities of Vice Presidents and their principal duties, which are detailed in the IUHPE Bye Laws (Annex B.) The following work plans cover the period of mandate of the current Board, that is, until June 2007, and take into account the priorities set by the President and each officer's vision of their post, identifying clear and realistic objectives, activities and timeline.
